We had the sequel to Ikari Warriors, and it was pretty much the same thing with some shops for upgrading, which was a good improvement, but honestly I'd probably go with Major League Baseball as the best game of the month. I could be partial as I owned the game growing up, but it felt like a...

No special games released. We had an Ice Hockey game, which was ok at the time, and Dragon Power was saturated with unnecessary in-game dialogues that detracted from gameplay. I'd probably go with Ice Hockey as the better game.

The real standout of this month was Contra. Let me tell you, if you try to beat this game fairly, you will have a heck of a challenge on your hands. I couldn't get past the second boss until I discovered the 30 lives code, then it was extremely easy.

Street Fighter II Turbo has been voted into the reviews early, thus it has been added; there may be more commentary on a future update.
Aside from this, January 1988 saw the release of Karnov and Renegade, and honestly, I couldn't really decide which was better. Renegade was released before...

One of Capcom's signature characters, MegaMan was born this month, and he quickly became a hit with the Nintendo fans. Honestly I would venture to say either MegaMan 2 or the first SNES were the best, but this is the original, so you have to give it credit for kickstarting this series.

In this month, we got one of the best NES games of all-time: Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! A very simple game, but still challenging nonetheless. The only other game worth mentioning here is Rad Racer, a simple racing game that was a decent play, but you certainly need to try Punch-Out...

This particular month didn't really boast any standout games, but if I had to choose one I would either go with 3-D Battles of the World Runner, or Double Dribble; but in theory I think everybody was still trying to figure out Zelda.

This was one of the best months in video game history. We were treated to two of legendary NES series, both The Legend of Zelda and Metroid. These games speak for themselves and revolutionized gaming, and it all started right here. Admittedly, I found a few better than Metroid,...

This month had a couple pop hits, but the best one was a game called Rygar. They tried to recreate it on PlayStation 2, but it was nowhere near as fun, challenging, or awesome as the original. The original even had better music. The landscapes were beautiful for a Nintendo game at...
